This simple drink is the perfect winter mocktail to enjoy this festive season with all the mulling spices - just without the alcohol.

Both juices provide us with antioxidants which can help protect our cells from free radical damage something that could lead to cancer.
Pomegranate juice in particular has more antioxidants than green tea. Both juices are also great sources of vitamin C and E meaning they help keep our cells, skin, bones, blood vessels, eyes and immune system healthy.

Ingredients
Makes 4 servings
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 25 minutes
- 500ml pomegranate juice
- 500ml cranberry juice
- 500ml water
- 8 cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 star anise
- 1 orange sliced
Method
Add all the ingredients to a large saucepan and bring to a very low boil on medium to high heat.
Turn heat to low and steam for 20-30 minutes.
Strain to remove the orange slices and spices.
Pour into a mug and serve.
Healthy swaps/tips
- Swap out the juices and water for alcohol-free red wine.
- Add in some blackberries to add a little extra flavour to the mix.
- Not a fan of pomegranate or cranberry juice? Swap them for red grape juice and apple juice.
