When you’re running a business, you want your employees to flourish in their roles, not suffer in silence if life becomes a struggle. Today, we know that people often have problems with their mental health, so looking after your employees' minds as well as their bodies, is more important than ever.
With our Mental Health option in place, you’ll show your business commitment to supporting mental health. And you’ll be able to help your staff start feeling like themselves again, whether they need counselling*, psychologial therapy, or psychiatric treatment in a private hospital (individual exclusions may apply, regardless of group cover).
*Available to members aged 18 and over. Only counselling arranged through this service is covered by this cover option.
Anne is 39 and is part of a team of 12 other recruitment consultants. Recently, Anne has been feeling depressed and has found it increasingly difficult to sleep at night. As a recruitment consultant, her role is highly target-focussed. She’s been lacking energy, feeling exhausted and falling short of her targets at work, which is adding to her stress.
Anne has a very honest and open relationship with her manager and confides in her during their next catch up. Anne’s manager reminds her that she has access to mental health support as part of their business health insurance. This means that she doesn’t need a GP referral – she can simply call the mental health assessments and support service to start receiving help and support.
On her lunch break, Anne calls the service and books a call to speak to a counsellor that afternoon at a time that suits her. The counsellor listens attentively and immediately Anne starts to feel better about things. They subsequently agree a plan that includes 5 remote video sessions which are more convenient for Anne to attend than in-person sessions. Taking this first step already makes Anne feel brighter for the first time in a long while and getting here has been easier than she expected it to be – thanks to the Mental Health option.
