Mental Health Assessments and Support service

A simple, fast journey to mental health treatment and support

Knowing where to turn to if you are suffering from stress, anxiety or depression can be a struggle in itself and mental illness can quickly impact almost every part of your working and personal life. So for more serious mental health concerns we are delighted to make available a simple, fast journey to mental health treatment and support, without the need to see a GP, via our Mental Health Assessments and Support service.

As soon as you begin to experience stress, anxiety or depression, you only need to make one call to start receiving the help and support you need.

A counsellor or psychologist will talk things through with you, listen to your concerns and suggest a treatment plan that is clinically appropriate for you. Depending on your requirements and level of cover this could be given through the following methods:

  • Telephone
  • Email
  • Face-to-Face counselling*
  • Psychiatrist or psychologist consultation
  • Self-help advice.

With our Mental Health Assessments and Support service you don’t need to suffer in silence as help is readily available.

Accessing our Mental Health Assessments and Support service

Step 1

Call 0800 092 3649

Step 2

One of the counsellors or psychologists will check your covered*, talk things through and make an initial assessment.

Step 3

Having listened to your concerns, the counsellor or psychologist will suggest a treatment plan clinically appropriate for you.

The Mental Health Assessments and Support service team will also provide ongoing clinical case management, as required, to monitor clinical outcomes.

The Stronger Minds service is not available to members under the age of 18 years old.

*Only counselling arranged through Stronger Minds is covered by your plan. Universities and College members must have pscyhiatric cover to use Stronger Minds. If you have psychiatric cover, it will be noted on your Certificate of Cover. If in doubt, please contact your HR department or AXA Health claims.

**Calls are recorded and/or monitored for quality assurance, training and as a record of your conversation.
