A choice of plans for your individual clients

For your individual customers we offer three health insurance plans for new business. Personal Health offers the greatest flexibility in terms of hospital choice and benefits. Health for You offers a competitive solution with selected hospitals and specialists around the country. Our InSpire Health Plan allows members to choose the care and treatment that matters most to them, with use of specified Ramsay and Spire hospitals.

With all our individual plans, your clients start with core cover. They can add the options they’d like, such as Standard or Full Outpatient, Therapies, Mental Health plus many more. Whatever your clients choose, they'll recieve the quality and service you'd expect from AXA Health.

Back pain

Support for muscles bones and joints

  • Get support for muscle, bone or joint pain without a GP referral 
  • An online clinical assessment with muscle, bones and joints specialists HBSUK, will direct members to the most appropriate clinical expert for their online appointment. Members can also call us for an assessment on the phone.
  • Recommended next steps whether that’s home exercises, tests (including scans and X-rays if the relevant benefits are chosen) or referral for onward treatment. 
  • Available for those aged 18 and over

Specialist appointment booking service

  • Following an open referral, an appointment with an appropriate specialist can be booked upon a member's behalf. 
  • If this isn't suitable, members can opt to receive a choice of three specialists so they can arrange their own appointment.

Comprehensive Cancer Cover

  • Cover for cancer treatment such as consultations, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and surgery (subject to medical history).
  • For suspected skin, breast or prostate cancer you can be seen quickly with no need for a GP referral (over 18s only. Prostate service is available to members aged 40 or over that have a confirmation of a raised PSA). 
  • If cancer is diagnosed, as soon as we're told, we'll connect the member to a dedicated cancer care manager.
  • Access to Untire - the fatigue management solution for people with cancer.
  • Six months of supportive health coaching avaliable to those undergoing cancer treatment.

24/7 Health support line

  • Ask any health-related question to a nurse or counsellor, either for yourself or a loved one, 24/7. 
  • Our online health centres bring together the latest information, facts and tips from our own healthcare professionals, leading medical authorities, specialist charities and NHS resources.

  • 40% off monthly individual memberships at Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Centres for the member and anyone covered on the AXA Health private healthcare scheme/plan.

AXA Doctor at Hand important information

24/7 availability – Subject to appointment availability. GPs avaliable 24/7 and Advanced Clinical Practitioners available 8am – 10pm, 365 days a year.

Prescriptions – Available in most circumstances. Outpatient prescriptions and delivery are not covered by the healthcare plan and may cost more than on the NHS. Prescriptions are only available in the UK.

Referrals to specialists – Any outpatient limits normally made towards treatment will apply. Referrals are subject to eligibility and claims authorisation.

All referrals and treatment recommended are on a private basis. The GPs and Advanced Clinical Practitioners are unable to refer to the NHS.

What’s not covered

Here are the main things that aren’t covered as standard in our private health insurance plans. For full details of eligibility, please see the product brochures.  

  • Routine pregnancy and childbirth. 
  • Out-patient drugs and dressings. 
  • Treatment of ongoing, recurrent and long-term conditions (chronic conditions). 
  • Treatment needed as a result of training for or taking part in any sport for which you are paid, receive a grant or sponsorship (not counting travel costs) or are competing for prize money. 
  • Cosmetic treatment.
  • Treatment of medical conditions you had, or had symptoms of, before you joined, depending on the underwriting option chosen. 
  • Fees if a hospital that is not in the associated Directory of Hospitals for the plan taken out is chosen. 
  • There are some specialists whose costs we can’t cover in full, plus some that we don't cover at all, so members are advised to call us if they need to claim.
