Maybe you’re leaving your job to set up on your own. Or perhaps you’re retiring. Whatever your reason for leaving your job, you’ll want to make sure that you have access to private healthcare benefits.
If you've been covered on a healthcare scheme provided by your employer, you (and any family member also covered on the scheme) could qualify for a personal health insurance plan with the option to continue without further medical underwriting. This means you could be covered for previous and existing medical conditions, as long as your new health insurance plan with us covers these.
Taking out personal health cover with us is quick and easy. You won’t need to fill in any forms or have any kind of medical examination when you join – we’ll arrange everything over the phone.
Our personal health insurance plans have a number of options including optical, dental and travel benefits. Remember that the cover offered depends on the plan you choose and the underwriting terms.
For most members who are on a company paid scheme, membership of this ends on the day you leave the company.
As your membership ends on the day you leave your company scheme, your ongoing treatment will not be covered.
If you are leaving your job or are no longer eligible to be a member of your company health scheme, you can join us on a personal health insurance plan. There is the option to continue your medical underwriting, however, the terms and conditions of a company scheme differ to those of a personal plan. We’ll provide all the information you need to create a plan that meets your needs and budget.
This underwriting option (also known as 'continuing medical exclusions’ or CME underwriting) means you could be covered for a pre-existing condition (subject to the terms and conditions of the individual plan you choose). This special offer for employees leaving an AXA Health company healthcare scheme or healthcare plan is not generally available on the open market.
You have 120 days from the date you leave your company healthcare scheme to join on a personal health insurance plan with this special underwriting option. You can still join any time after that date, but normally any conditions that you were previously claiming for would be excluded from cover. The offer is open to all employees and their dependants, who were covered on the company health insurance plan, regardless of length of service and includes those who are currently claiming or retiring.
We hope you’ll find transferring to an AXA PPP healthcare personal health insurance plan is quick and easy. You won’t need to fill in any forms or have any kind of medical examination when you join – we’ll arrange everything over the phone. You can call us on 0800 032 1965.
