At this year’s REBA (Reward & Employee Benefits Association) Wellbeing Congress, we were excited to host our Master Class. We opened with a simple question – Where does the responsibility of health and wellbeing of the UK workforce lie? And we delved into ownership creation, looking at the roles and responsibilities across a business to achieve success, impact and buy-in.
Led by AXA Health’s Eugene Farrell, Mental Health Consulting Lead, and Ashleigh Tonks, Employee Wellbeing Manager for AXA UK, the session concentrated on how businesses could help employees unlock the value of their health at work, using examples from our own experience at AXA.
Our session explored how:
- responsibility for health is shifting away from the state, and what that means for employers and employees
- workplaces can foster a culture of kindness and empower their people to manage their own health
- training and supporting line-managers or wellbeing advocates can have tangible, practical benefits for your people
- coaching plays a role in achieving positive and healthy behaviour change
- AXA Health’s ‘We Care’ programme provides diverse and impactful engagement to its UK-wide employee base
- data can show us the impact of employee health on HR and business strategy
